Welcome to the Rock
I know, I'm behind. All of the major blogs have covered this already, but I would be amiss if I didn't cover the latest Arthur Gugick masterpiece. After presenting the key Catholic structure (St. Peter's) last week, now he comes out with one of the key buildings of Islam, the Dome of the Rock. Be sure to look at the larger pictures to see the amazing detail work.

Fanboy results
Results are in for the Fanboy Cover Contest held over on the Classic-Space forum. The large category was taken by Zachmoe's micro interpretation of Danny Rice's Porphryion, and the small category went to Adrian Drake's micro take on Nannan Z's Armegeddon Tank.

Give Piece a Chance
This has been around for a while, but it seems like there is a new display. Plus, I never did blog this here on MicroBricks, so this is a great opportunity. Piece of Peace is a display of UNESCO World Heritage sites built by LEGO Master Builder Kazuyoshi Naoe that has been shown at various Japanese locations. Find more about this here, here and here. It looks like this is currently on display in Tokyo, and there may be some new additions. Some of my favorites are Mont St. Michel, the Colosseum and Big Ben.

Matryoshka dolls
In a great entry to the Classic-Space Fanboy Cover Contest, Keith Goldman has a great micro version of Dan Hamann's Container Shuttle Craft. As in the original, the bay opens up to bring out special cargo, in this case an even smaller iteration, apparently built by the minifig of Prof. Whateverly.

Greenery
Noddy has a nice skyscraper scene. What makes this one stand out to me is not the buildings, but the treatment of greenery. The cone trees are placed on normal and offset studs in a way that seems very organic, and the mostly-tiled look is great at making the few exposed green studs appear as bushes.

Micro fanboy contest
I recently blogged Wintermute's micro version of a large Dan Jassim MOC. I've learned that this is for the Fanboy Cover Contest. Spacers are challenged to build microscale versions of other Spacers' MOCs. Two more entries include Smartiac's micro rendition of Chris Giddens' Fazoom-o-craft and Chris Edwards' rendition of Mark Stafford's Gothica.
Microspacetopia icon
Every month or so the Microspacetopia Flickr group holds a contest to replace their icon. The October contest focused on gun turrets, and was won by BlindBricks. The November/December contest is about micro communications arrays. It looks like there are no entries right now, so hurry over and post something and you'll probably win. :)

Merry Christmas
I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas. What better way to celebrate than finishing up MisaQa's Advent calendar? After building a new micro building for each day of Advent, she puts them all together into a great town layout.
