I will spread my wings and fly.
Flickr user EdgeDonkey built this crafty little ship, The Aztec Gold. It is a most inventive use of the inca headdress piece. The look really conveys a sense of wings spread in flight.
Edit: As I was recently informed, edgedonkey is actually Mac Reddin, one of the new posters here at Microbricks. I am also, quite obviously, a newcomer to this blog myself.

Fallingwater and Guggenheim
I've previously griped that the first offerings in the LEGO Architecture line by Adam Reed Tucker of Brickstructures were fairly simple models. While they were good souvenir shop pieces for the general public, an AFOL could easily reproduce them from their existing collections just by seeing the photo. The same cannot be said of the next two sets, recently announced by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, the iconic Fallingwater and Guggenheim. These are just beautiful. I take back everything I said before. Via the Brothers Brick. Not sure when these will be for sale, but I definitely want these.

I've noted these sets before, but nori-gallery has comprehensive pictures of the LEGO Architecture sets designed by Adam Reed Tucker, including box art, the included pamphlets, parts included and completed models: Sears Tower, John Hancock Center, Empire State Building and Space Needle.

More Bad Days For Micropolis
Eti gives us an entry for Reasonably Clever's Bad Day for Micropolis contest with a meaning. In his micro block he shows old houses being torn down for Evilcorp's newest office building.
I really like that parking lot under Evilcorp's existing tower, and although small, those old houses look very rustic and atmospheric.
Koffiemoc's Micropolis build above, Clearhead Tower is leaving the neighbourhood was sadly too late to enter the contest, but I have to say I love the idea of this walking tower, and the architectural details in it.
Bridging the gap.
2 much Caffeine has posted this great Micro bridge on flickr. What I find real cool about this is that the bridge is actually held up by the lever pieces pressing against the bars.

I've gotten an overwhelming response to my previous call for help with running my blogs. If you've already e-mailed me, I'll be contacting you soon. If you've contacted me another way (e.g. leaving a comment on the blog or at Classic-Castle), please drop me a quick e-mail at bricktalesATgmailDOTcom. To all others, I'm still pretty swamped, but look forward to a reinvigoration of these blogs as we bring in fresh bloggers. In the meantime, I'm trying to do daily updates to GodBricks to get that one fully established. So check there for your daily fix of my blogging.

Help! Call for co-bloggers
Okay, I'm in over my head. I get excited about an area and create a framework for that, but now I have four blogs--VignetteBricks, MicroBricks, MinilandBricks and GodBricks--in addition to being an admin at Classic-Castle. Not to mention I'd like to do something on my own LEGO projects now and then. So I'm looking for some co-bloggers for the first three (I'm going to keep GodBricks to myself for a bit until it is fully established). This need not be burdensome - you're already checking Brickshelf, Flickr, MOCpages, etc., when you see a good MOC that's on-topic, post it to the blog. The code is really easy, so don't be concerned about that. I only ask that you try to stay with the same vision of the blog--i.e. if you're helping with MicroBricks, only post microscale creations. Also, this is not just a way to highlight your own stuff, but if you do make something in the theme that you think is good, go ahead and post it. This would probably work best if you're someone I already know from interaction on the various LEGO forums. If I had two or three partners for each blog it would be great. New blog - GodBricks
Hey all,
I've continued my blog proliferation with a new blog, GodBricks. As with my existing blogs, there will be a specific theme - the overlap of LEGO building and religious themes. Religion has been at the heart of much of the great art and architecture for millenia, and LEGO building is no different. I'm going to try to feature creations such as cathedrals, mosques, minifigs based on religious figures, illustrations of biblical or other stories, etc, from all faith traditions. There will be overlap with my existing blogs, as I have already, for instance, highlighted vignettes of stories from the Book of Mormon, a microscale cathedral, and a miniland-scale Mary and Jesus nativity scene. Please check out GodBricks and let me know what you think. I've also started a related Flickr group, LEGO and God, with the same theme.

Bad Day for Micropolis
The newest contest on Reasonably Clever is entitled Bad Day for Micropolis. Chris is working together with TwinLUG and the challenge is to use the TwinLUG micro city standard for your MOC. There are categories for different size modules, including one for a disaster hitting your micro city. Think earthquake, volcano, dinosaurs, alien invasion, giant meteors, or whatever your twisted mind can come up with. Rock Smash is by Garth Danielson, BTW. TwinLUG is also inviting anyone to bring micro city modules to BrickWorld this June to create a giant tiny city.

Starfleet
While AFOLs in the US were gathering for Brickfest, our Austrian counterparts were celebrating Wunderwelt Modellbau. It looks like Stefan Kasmayer (aka 2x4 on Brickshelf) brought a whole fleet's worth of his Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica micro MOCs. Photo credit to Brainbike.rider.

Medieval coastline
Hmm, I think this is an older MOC, but it just popped up on Brickshelf and I don't think I've blogged it before, so here is a medieval walled city and surroundings by Luis and Tania Baixinho. Luis has also recently posted a nice mini tree. This fits in well with trees using Lenny's spheres and several people who have used green hair for trees.
