Happy Reformation Day

Several times over recent years, Jojo (Johannes Koehler) has celebrated Reformation Day by building illustrations of the life of Martin Luther. Today he presents abduction with a micro Wartburg Castle in the background. Read Jojo's post for the history behind this scene.

Mini Castle Contest IV

Tomorrow is the deadline for the Mini Castle Contest, so if you want to enter, follow that link and submit your MOC quickly. A lot of great entries have been coming in, like Luis Baixinho's Argo and RichardAM's coastal town.

Tiny little Russian town

In a comment to an earlier blog post, Liova pointed out that Fox2006's microstreets were for a group build held by members of Doublebrick, a Russian AFOL group.

And the winner is ...

I always love the trophies built for fan fests. They're a great opportunity to build small MOCs like micro or vigs. Here is the trophy for CC City Building from BrickCon. Tedward built it and Caylin won it.

Where the streets have no name

It looks like Fox2006 is using LEGO Factory to create a series of minitown street sections that can be put together to make a larger layout. He shows all of the pieces involved so it would be easy to make some for your own microscale city display.

Battlestar Galactica

Battlestar Galactica micro MOCs from BrickCon (by who?). I love how that one viper is integrated with the mosaic.
-Edit- Several BrickCon attendees left comments to identify the builders. Thanks all! The mosaic is by Katie Wood. The small viper in the upper left is by Thomas Lockwood. The other three vipers are based on Chris Deck's design - one is built by Ted Godwin. The other three ships from the ragtag fleet are by Kevin Blocksidge. Very cool display, guys.

Fanboys

Nathan Proudlove and Zach Clapsadle collaborated on the Final Flight of the Nova Taurus, a microscale recreation of the Keith Goldman MOC of the same name. Nathan built the ship and Zach built the diorama for the Fanboy Cover Contest over on Classic-Space. Their combined effort at BrickCon earned them the prize for best micro adventure.

Rice-a-roni

Check out this great cable car station. Jerrec uses it for forced perspective in this MOC combining micro and fig scales. This must be an entry for the next round of the Brick Transport Tycoon contest, which challenges builders to make a "near transport" creation. Via the Brothers-Brick.

City standard

One of these days I'm going to write an article collecting up the different micro standards. Anyway, a standard is a set of agreed upon dimensions and connection points so that people can join their creations together in a group display. The members of TwinLug came up with a set of standards for a great micro city display, which was on display at the LEGO store in the Mall of America. Builders were Bisonfuehrer, Roy Cook, Garth Danielson and Nathen Stohlmann. They're apparently expanding the display for future events. Let's take a closer look at Nathan's memorial and Bisonfuehrer's .

Moony

Some of the attendees at BrickCon this past weekend assembled a micro moonbase. I see some work by Andrew Lee and other by Sly420. Can anyone help fill in any other builders?

BrickCon, almost as good as chasing string!

BrickCon is a LEGO fest happening this weekend in Seattle. I'm sure there will be lots of micro goodness to report. For instance, it looks like Shannon Young has already arrived, and Shannonia has undergone further expansion, adding mountains outside the city.

Edit: Okay, this goes to show that I should check MOCpages more often. Shannon has posted more pictures of his newest expansion there.
