Architecture

Adam Reed Tucker, creator of the LEGO Architecture sets, is currently displaying his work at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. Kim Yanoshik recently visited the exhibit.

New set news - Tower Bridge

Via Toys N Bricks, the next major world landmark set from LEGO is going to be 10214, Tower Bridge. No word yet on price point or release date, but this looks like it will be an epic set.

Brandenburger Tor

Okay, I have a complaint. LEGO Design by Me is absolutely impossible to search. Max Niebling has gone and uploaded his great Brandenburg Gate design and then ordered it as a custom set, but I have no idea how someone else could order this for themselves. The administrators of the Design by Me section of Lego.com should really come up with a way to highlight some of these great designs, rather than make you wade through random MOCs. Anway, enough grousing, check out this great rendition of the Berlin landmark.




Max has a number of additional landmarks designed in microscale. I hope he goes on to produce many of these in true ABS form.

Hong Kong

Several builders from Hong Kong have entered the 2010 Hong Kong LEGO competition sponsored by EastTouch. Chiukeung's offering, Hong Kong - a city of charm shows many sites of the city in micro form.

Oil spill

LEGO NYC

The newest LEGO Store just opened in Rockefeller Plaza in downtown New York. While most LEGO stores tend to have the same miniland-scale models on display, in addition to assembled sets, this store has a number of New York themed creations at a variety of scales - large sculptures, miniland characters, minifig scale scenes, and even microscale. Here we see the Statue of Liberty, the Guggenheim and the Manahattan skyline.
