Builder BB has a Microhio project, with prominent buildings from around Ohio, including the Leveque Tower (here is the original and the Atlas building (I think this is the original).

Micro fanboy contest
I recently blogged Wintermute's micro version of a large Dan Jassim MOC. I've learned that this is for the Fanboy Cover Contest. Spacers are challenged to build microscale versions of other Spacers' MOCs. Two more entries include Smartiac's micro rendition of Chris Giddens' Fazoom-o-craft and Chris Edwards' rendition of Mark Stafford's Gothica.

Microspacetopia icon
Every month or so the Microspacetopia Flickr group holds a contest to replace their icon. The October contest focused on gun turrets, and was won by BlindBricks. The November/December contest is about micro communications arrays. It looks like there are no entries right now, so hurry over and post something and you'll probably win. :)

Merry Christmas
I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas. What better way to celebrate than finishing up MisaQa's Advent calendar? After building a new micro building for each day of Advent, she puts them all together into a great town layout.

Regent
I always love it when people do microscale tributes to other people's MOCs. Here Wintermute makes a micro Regent after Dan Jassim's massive Regent.

Baby Dock
Mike Yoder (no surprise here) presents an awesome layout, the Drydock5 at the North Central Positronics shipyard. This is just packed full of details, so you really have to take some time to go through the folder. One of my favorite details is the reconstruction of other AFOLs MOCs, such as Dan Jassim's Nasal Avenger.
While we're in his folder, Mike also just posted this Thundercouger heavy fighter.

Seventh Day Adventish
MisaQa is continuing her great Advent Calendar project. Follow that link for daily updates. So far she has posted seven separate creations, including the Sky Plaza and a Pastoral Hospital.
I hope that at the end of the project we'll see a layout with all of these buildings forming one big town.

The starriest of wars
RogueBantha may well be the king of microscale Star Wars creations. Creations by him in the last couple of months include ...
an Extended Universe TIE Crawler,
what he calls "hypermini" Slave 1 and Republic Gunship,
and most ambitiously, the Grand Army of the Republic.

Christmas gift from MisaQa
For each of the past two years MisaQa has created an advent calendar, presenting one new MOC from a theme for each day of December leading up to Christmas. In 2005 it was birds. In 2006 it was dolls dressed up. This year MisaQa has started out the 2007 calendar with a microscale Town Hall. It looks like microscale town is this years theme! Given the previous high quality of MisaQa's creations, I'm pretty excited about this. You can bet that MicroBricks will document this ongoing series.

Flame on
I always thought of the stump element as one of those too-juniorized single-use pieces. Not so. Crises comes up with an innovative use in Volcano.

OTB Contest
I don't regularly read the Outside The Brick forum, so I missed the OTB Microscale Contest. The contest is over and results have been announced.
First goes to Ralph S's Interstellar Exploration Vessel John Archibald Wheeler.
Second goes to Samus' F-16 Medical Vessel "The Seeker".
Third place went to Andrew's Sling of David.

Mini-mizing your MOCs
I really like it when someone takes a fig-scale MOC and builds a microscale version. One recent example is ThePaleMan's mini version of Chris Giddens' original PCS SLAM.
While we're on this topic, in his recently blogged Space Pirates Lair, Dennis Coh included a ship that Nannan Z (newest member of the Brothers-Brick team - Welcome to blogging, Nannan!) pointed out is a remake of Dennis' fig scale Izanami's Revenge.
One more - a couple of years ago John Langrish posted a mini version of Jon Palmer's M-Wing.

Mini milis
I first saw these in pictures from LMO (LEGO MOC-Off) 2007, an annual gathering of Japanese AFOLs, but there weren't good clear pictures. Recently, though, Azumu has posted pictures of his AH-1S Cobra helicopter, his 90 Shiki tank, and his UH-1J helicopter.
While I'm here, someone at LMO 2007 brought this helicopter (a Havoc? an Agusta A129? Does anyone know?).

Traffic JaMMM
Readers of VignetteBricks will know of the regular Mini Moc Madness, or MMM, contests held by Lowlug. At regular intervals they challenge builders to express a certain theme on a 16x16 footprint. This time, the theme was Gladly that I drive. The winner was a microscale MOC, Mahjqa's Traffic Jam. I particularly love that little cement truck.

The envelope please ...
Results are in for the Mini Castle Contest III hosted by Robin Hood of the Classic-Castle forums. And the winner is Jedimasterwagner's Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Second goes to a late entry by Nelson Yrizarry that I hadn't had a chance to blog yet: Sailor's Light.
Lord Felix' Rock Barren Keep took third.
Honorable mention nods went to DARKspawn's Flying Citadel and Scnicker's Bean Stalk Castle.
